- FINE ART PHOTOGRAPHY WORK

The Work and what its all about

Exploring the spaces between words and images, I construct photographs and text in filmic panoramic sequences as a way of reconstructing memory, presented in an abstract form. I use text to manipulate, appropriate or juxtapose the meaning and understanding of the image creating the possibility of open-ended narrative. My work references popular culture, the mass media and the semiotics of an accelerated contemporary lifestyle.

Oxford Images – Panoramic sequence photography

Over the next few weeks I will be previewing new panoramic sequence images that I have shot around Oxford.

This city has been photographed over and over again, this makes it extremely hard to be original in with your approach. I wanted to shoot something that stood out and fitted with my concept of working with multiple images.

Hello David,

I really love the panoramas. I was wondering if I could use the one of the Rad Cam in a web site for school. It’s a little web portfolio used to present my resume to potential employers (I’m studying to be a librarian). If I don’t here back from you I won’t use it, but I would really appreciate, as I agree that it is difficult to find an artistic image of the building.

Thanks much,

Phillip Hewitt
